JAPANESE ARUARU
After a Japanese roommate’s bath, the tub may still be full. “I’ll drain it.” “Oh, you can use that water.” Standing beside the same bath, the roommates first need to agree on what happens between one bather and the next.
A Japanese friend calls: “Is now a good time?” You say yes. “There’s something I wanted to ask.” You invite them to continue, and the question finally arrives. Even a short call can have several doorways.
