A local friend may raise a camera and find every Japanese traveler ready with a peace sign. A new spot, another photo, the same hands. The scenery keeps changing, but one small part of the picture travels faithfully from place to place.
On a train where passengers press a button to open the doors, a traveler from Japan may simply stand and wait. Another passenger reaches over from behind and presses it. The train had reached the station; the door was waiting for one more signal.
